![]() The Hershey Company’s Pledge For Survival! The Hershey Company celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the limited-edition Pink Collection - York® Pink Peppermint Patties, Hershey’s Nuggets® and Hershey’s Kisses® chocolates. This year, Hershey will donate $250,000 to the YSC through its “Pledge for Survival” and the sale of these candies at participating retailers nationwide during the month of October. Hershey is also the title sponsor of the YSC’s annual York Tour de Pink bicycle ride, in which more than 50 riders will pedal their way from the Hershey Times Square store in New York City to Hershey, PA, to raise awareness of and funds for young women affected by breast cancer. Specially-marked packages featuring photographs of women in the YSC community will be available at most drug, food and mass market retail stores. This year’s campaign is expected to exceed the more than $77,000 raised by Nutra Nail’s 2005 Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Farleyco, the Canadian distributor of Nutra Nail products, will offer bilingual brochures in their display stands to raise awareness about young women and breast cancer and expand the reach of the YSC in Canada. The company will donate 20¢ per sale of several of Nutra Nail Growth and Strengthening products throughout September and October, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $2,000. Mikimoto, a long-time supporter of the YSC, honors young women affected by breast cancer through the sale of their Hope Collection, from which the YSC receives proceeds. Inspired by the pink ribbon, the symbol for breast cancer awareness, the 2006 collection highlight is an Akoya cultured pearl bracelet strung with pale pink silk thread. A luxurious twist on the rubber "cause" bracelet, it features a ribbon charm in 18K rose gold and is finished with a Mikimoto clasp in 18K rose gold. Other new pieces for 2006 are an Akoya cultured pearl necklace strung with pink thread and two Akoya cultured pearl and pink sapphire brooches.
